The Bankside District, situated along the south bank of the river Thames is a celebration of the area’s thriving creative industries with numerous art galleries, roadside installations, open studios and interactive workshops which reflect the vibrancy and diversity of Bankside. It is perhaps the richest cultural district, largely thanks to the arrival in 2000 of Tate Modern in the former Bankside Power Station. The modern Bankside holds a wealth of cultural institutions and noteworthy sites, among them a reconstruction of The Golden Hinde, the Tate Modern, and the Millennium Bridge.
The Tour, called the Artistic Shades at Bankside takes you on a journey through the colours and creativity of this vibrant art district. You cannot be in London without exploring the art of Bankside.
