The art scene in New York’s Downtown is subtly woven into the fabric of the neighborhood, in a way that feels more organic than the other art districts. Its graffitied streets are populated with artists’ homes and pop-up Invader or Banksy installations. The Downtown neighbourhood is not only flanked by European-inspired cafes and charming boutiques, but is also reflective of an artistic renaissance.
The Tour takes you through the New Museum and the local galleries giving you a perfect experience of the fascinating art world of New York Downtown. Here, we’ve rounded up some art launches plus a working lunch at the Zest

It goes without saying that anyone serious about exploring art, needs to experience the art in New York City. Repeatedly. And the New York Downtown becomes a must do.At the Fascinating Downtown Tour you can expect to see the evolution of art over the years. From the artist-run galleries to the downtown art culture that is typical of New York Downtown.
We start the tour with a “Welcome to the Tour” meeting at the Cha Cha Matcha. The Curator/Tour Leader will explain the tour details with a brief introduction to the history and the evolution of art in the Downtown District of New York. This would be an informal meeting over a cup of coffee followed by a quick Q&A session.
Enjoy a curated walk through the New Museum. Established by an independent curator Marcia Tucker in 1977, it is dedicated to introducing new art and new ideas, by artists who have not yet received significant exposure or recognition. Ever since it was founded, the museum has taken on the mission to challenge the stiff institutionalization of an art museum. It continues to bring new ideas into the art world and to connect with the public.
Our pre-lunch session ends with lunch at the Zest – Asian Fusion Cafe. It’s a nice cozy place with a relaxed atmosphere, helpful service and amazing food. The sushi servings are great and it has a lot of good options for Vegetarians too! The Wine was good too. We can have a discussion on our discoveries over lunch and a glass of wine!
The Dia Foundation is a phenomenal space to spend time thinking, observing, and marveling in an abstract world of contemporary art. Originally built in 1929 as a Nabisco box printing factory, the space has now been reconstructed into a minimalist, custom space that maximizes natural light and the exhibitions that live in it. With dozens of unique works, it is clear to see why Dia as one of the top arts and culture hotspots in New York.
After the tour of Dia Foundation, we go in for an unforgettable tour of three of the top most exhibitions in the ACC Network. The tour would include galleries like Marc Straus, Peter Blum, Team, Company, Deitch Projects, Shin Gallery, Perrotin, Denny Demin, Magenta Plains, Bitforms, James Cohan.
